"Champion" (2) features a more jazzy style,as Kanye talks about his father (who left his mom when he was 3) as even with the ups & downs of their relationship, they still reconciled and he sees him as a "champion" no matter what. Overall, this is a really triumphant intro and in contrast with the previous intros from his other projects,in which he was insulted and called a disappointment by the school administrator,he now considers himself a big successful artist. Heading towards the end of the song,a Jay-Z sample hits ("The Ruler's Back") and morphs into an outro, the sample representing Ye coming back, now being a "ruler". Ye's rapping is really slick, becoming more aggressive over time.

The production is also really lightly-taken,as it creates a really sunny and cute atmosphere, solidified by the beautiful wordless Elton John sample ("Someone Saved My Life Tonight") and the echoing cowbell claps. The tracks lyrical & musical content is both dark and light in tone,as he makes fun of himself in the first verse (and his bad grades),being more political in the last verse.

"Graduation"s opener,"Good Morning" (1) is the only song that somewhat relates to the school theme that his previous works took on,as he goes on and criticizes himself in the first two verses,as well as the broken "Some people graduate, but be still stupid" and the controlling "They tell you read this, eat this, don't look around/Just peep this, preach this,Jesus" American school system. The cover is also really cutsey, made by japanese artist Takashi Murakami, and it definetly represents the content of the project really well. As a quick fun fact, this album came out around the same time as 50 Cent's "Curtis" and they had a weird friendly publicity feud on who is gonna make more sales, which Ye did,by selling 950k. Thematically, the tracks are more personal,as Ye explores himself and what made him famous,as he now "graduated" in the rap game, getting to the top,the title representing an analogy. The style was inspired by house, stadium tours and indie rock, mainly influenced by U2,as Ye went on tours with them before this release. Compared to his first two projects (CD,LR), "Graduation" is a different take on hip-hop from Kanye,as he plays with more synths and electronic sounds, giving off a futuristic vibe, more pop-ish then it's predecessors, who tend to sample more soulful songs. "Graduation" is Ye's 3rd studio album and the last in the college-themed series, altough he doesn't really follow a concept for this one, since he already "graduated".
